Adventureland!

Good times....

Adventures...at the ER

Before we could go to Adventureland, we had to make a stop at th ER.

Not for Jackson, but for Andy.  He was working on the race car on Tuesday night and buried a piece of rusty brake drum into the palm of his hand.  He pulled half of it out and didn't realize he left the other half deep into his hand.  Until Thursday morning when it was purple, hot and hard as a rock.  Instead of leaving at 9:30, we finally left town at 3:30.

Grits & Giggles: {Tutorial} Banded Hand Towels

Love this, must try asap!!!!

Grits & Giggles: {Tutorial} Banded Hand Towels: We've had the same old dish towels since we got married. There's nothing wrong with some of them, but they're mismatched, dirty, or just do...

Favorite Flannels

I've had these flannel scraps sewn together in weird shaped rectangles for a very long time, possibly since 2006 when I started sewing.  I finally figured out what to do with them.  I cut them evenly into squares and sewed them all together.  I LOVE them!  The scraps are from my VERY FIRST QUILT ever made.  I sent that quilt to a friend in Minnesota.  The other scraps are from the third quilt I've made.  That pattern was given to me by my sister-in-law.  I love it that I have pieces of both of those memories in this little project!

I think this can add a little color to my very brown furniture

Darn sun...

Bold and Beautiful New Bag!

Should make a great purse, right?

Love this... I'm keeping it.  Not sure why, but I'm keeping it.

New Bag!

Even a couple of pockets inside.  I love this polka dot fabric.

I'm a winner!

Cruising around on some quilting blogs, I came across Sew Red for Women.  What a great way to bring awareness to heart disease among women.

They were having a giveaway, so I entered.  The giveaway was for a special charm from Sweetwater, sponsored by burgundy buttons.  I won!

Scrap Boxes

I really like this book... Sunday Morning Quilts.  It has a lot of great ideas for scraps.  This one.... I just couldn't live without!  I separated all of my scraps by color.  Then I used them to make color coordinated scrap boxes!  The hardest part was eating enough cereal to cut up enough light weight cardboard to put inside of them!

I left off the labels (if I can't tell that the box made with blue fabric is for blue scraps, I probably shouldn't be a quilter).  I have them lined up on my cutting table.  I think they are so cute!  If/when we finish our basement and I make an actual sewing room, I hope to have these on shelves above my cutting table.

Here are the quilted panels, all cut and ready to be sew together

I even had a little help putting all of the piece together!

Here's the original idea

and here are my boxes!
